When you’re in 3’s Broadband Zone, you’ll have access to Australia’s first 3G mobile network, and all of 3’s amazing services – Video Calling, IM, Mobile Broadband access, full length music tracks and videos, multiplayer games, Mobile TV and more great Planet 3 content. Our 3G network is getting bigger and better all the time. In fact, we’ve just expanded our 3G coverage to include Frankston, VIC. When you’re outside 3’s Broadband Zone, you still get fantastic coverage. You’ll automatically roam onto most of Telstra’s GSM network, putting you in touch with 96% of the Australian population with Voice Calls, SMS, MMS, IM, Email, 3 Lite and Mobile Broadband*. And you can also access 3 Lite content on Planet 3 when roaming.

Broadband Zone – access all of 3’s amazing services
Available in most areas of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra. When you’re in 3’s Broadband Zone, you can use all of 3’s services including Video Calling, Messaging (including Picture and Video Messaging, IM, Email, SMS, Voicemail and Videomail), Mobile Broadband, Voice Calls and Planet 3 content (e.g. Mobile TV, Music, Sport, News, Games and more). Your access to 3’s services will depend on your mobile. So you’ll need to make sure you choose the right mobile for the services you want to use.

Talk and Messaging Zone – covers 96% of the Australian population
This zone covers 96% of the Australian population and enables you to make and receive Voice Calls, access IM, Voicemail and Mobile Broadband*, send and receive SMS, Picture and Video MMS, Email and receive Faxmail. You can also access 3 Lite content when roaming.

New sites to strengthen 3’s network coverage
There will be areas within 3’s Broadband Zone shown on the map where you may move into the Talk and Messaging Zone and only be able to access Talk and Messaging services.
Your mobile’s indicator will show you when you are not in 3’s Broadband Zone. Please see your service or mobile guides for details.

Customer Notice
Customers must live or work at addresses within 3’s Broadband Zone to be eligible for connection. Connection only available to Business customers with an ABN or ACN who have an address and predominantly carry on business within 3's Broadband Zone. Whilst we have tried to be as accurate as possible, the coverage maps only provide a general indication of the different coverage service areas. There will be areas within 3’s Broadband Zone shown on the map where you may move into the Talk and Messaging Zone and only be able to access Talk and Messaging services. As with all mobile phone networks, there may be some areas within the stated coverage areas where reception is limited or unavailable. There are also factors that we cannot reasonably control and may affect reception, such as mobile type and quality, high or large buildings, basements, car parks, tunnels and geographical features.

International Voice & Video Calls
You can make international Voice Calls to over 200 countries. When in 3’s Broadband Zone, you can also make international Video Calls to friends and family of overseas 3 networks plus selected 3G networks in other countries when they are in their network coverage areas.

Travelling overseas#
You’ll be able to use your mobile in countries where we have arrangements for international roaming. Please confirm the country you’re travelling to has international roaming with us if you wish to use this service. When roaming internationally, you should have access to Voice Calls, Voicemail, SMS, MMS,† Email and Mobile Broadband (depending on the services offered on our roaming partner’s network).International roaming calls and data usage are charged at international roaming rates. When you are roaming overseas and send an SMS back to Australia, you will be charged the standard SMS rate as per your current plan and on top of this, an additional flat fee will be charged as determined by our roaming partner.
